AIH Webinar – Sensitivity of the NRCS Curve Number to Calibration Methods
February 23, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am PST
$35.00Please join us for this special AIH webinar titled “Sensitivity of the NRCS Curve Number to Calibration Methods”, on February 23, 2023 from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM PST presented by Glenn Moglen

Webinar Description:
This presentation summarizes some recent work by several members of the ASCE-EWRI Curve Number Hydrology task committee. We examined several different elements that contribute to calibration of a curve number from rainfall-runoff observations. These elements include calibration method, different initial abstraction ratios, imposition of a minimum precipitation threshold, and data ordering. Findings concerning the role of each of these elements in terms of the calibrated curve number and goodness-of-fit to the NRCS runoff equation will be presented.

Research Hydrologist, Agricultural Research Service
Beltsville, Maryland USA
I am a research hydrologist and the Research Leader for the Hydrology and Remote Sensing Laboratory (HRSL) of the Agricultural Research Service (a research-oriented agency within the U.S. Department of Agriculture). HRSL conducts basic and applied research of all elements of the hydrologic cycle as they relate to agricultural interests both nationally and internationally.
My research interests are primarily in the area of hydrology and hydraulics. I am particularly interested in drivers of hydrologic change such as changing land use and climate change, flood and drought frequency, and hydrologic modeling.
