The AIH Board of Directors launched its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity (DEI) Committee in 2022 with a charge to develop a DEI Scholarship Fund. The DEI Committee established this scholarship to further the AIH goal of extending educational and professional opportunities to those not commonly represented in hydrology-related fields.
At its discretion, the DEI Committee will award financial scholarships for students along with a year-long AIH membership and access to mentor consultation with a current AIH member. Mentor activities may include: Preparation of a resume, preparation for certifications or other exams, or job interviews.
The DEI Committee will award its first scholarship for the 2025-2026 school year.
Eligibility Criteria
Undergraduate students enrolled in a full-time hydrology related academic program. High school and graduate students are not eligible.
Application Process
- This is a self-nomination process.
- The application period will be open from the second week in January through the end of February 2025.
- Applications must be submitted using the online form.
- Recipients will be notified and contacted directly by AIH.
The application process will open the second week of January. Please submit a completed application to be considered, which includes college/university transcripts and one academic letter of recommendation. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
The DEI Scholarship Fund makes funding available to selected individuals for hydrology-related training or education. Donations are not tax-deductible.
