In this webinar, Dr. Carlos will provide an insightful overview of global water availability and usage, highlighting the critical challenges we face in this century. He will explore strategies to overcome these challenges, uncover new opportunities, and emphasize that the current crisis is, at its core, a crisis of water governance at national, regional, and global levels.

- Examine water usage across different sectors and identify inefficiencies.

Carlos Fernández-Jáuregui has a Ph.D. in Engineering and Hydrology, with specialization in water resources management by the Technical University of Berlin (TU-Berlin), and is also an AIH PH. At present he is the Director of the Water Assessment and Advisory Global Network (WASA-GN), an International Organization focus on water governance issues of multidisciplinary nature, Coach and Evaluator for the Programme Horizon 2020 and Europa from the EU. He is a former Director of the United Nations Office for the International Decade for Action “Water, source of life” 2005-2015 (Zaragoza, Spain); Deputy Director of the World Water Assessment Programme (WWAP) of the United Nations system (Paris, France), Regional Hydrologist of the International Hydrological Programme (IHP) of UNESCO in Montevideo; and Director of the Institute of Hydrology and Hydraulics (UMSA-La Paz/TU-Berlin). Full Professor TU-Berlin/UMSA-La Paz and Visiting Professor in universities in Germany, France, USA, Italy, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
